About the Host
Hi, I’m Cruz! I’m a lens-based artist who merges photography, poetry, and alternative processes to explore connection, memory, and emotion. I’ve been facilitating workshops for a few years, often alongside friends and collaborators, but this session I’m excited to guide you through the process solo. My goal is to create a welcoming, low-pressure space where we can learn, make, and share together :)
Workshop Overview:
In this workshop, we’ll explore an image transfer technique with a few different materials. Using a simple gel-transfer process, you’ll learn how to transfer your own images onto wood and ceramic tiles, and see how each surface changes the final image.
Everyone will make three transfers during the workshop:
• Two 5” × 7” wood panels
• One ceramic tile
Image transfers can be a bit unpredictable, which is part of the fun. We’ll talk through the process step by step, experiment with different images, and embrace the textures and imperfections that naturally come through. No experience is necessary! This workshop is meant to be relaxed, exploratory, and open to anyone who’s curious about working with photographs in a new way :)
All materials will be provided.
This workshop is being offered at a flat rate of $70 to help keep it accessible while still covering the real costs of running it. Materials alone come to roughly $30 per person (wood panels, ceramic tiles, transfer materials, prints, mediums, etc.), and the remaining cost helps cover workshop preparation, setup, printing, and facilitation time. All materials are included, and everyone will leave with 3 completed image transfer pieces. No prior experience needed — just bring yourself :)
And as always, thank you for supporting small, artist-run workshops ♡
